Class format
Ramsay is the Teacher of the Vitality Yoga system a group and private practice that focuses on reducing blockages in the body and mind while focused on living in optimal health. Class or private instruction is taught in a non –heated environment so one doesn’t over load their nervous system and cause undue stress.
Ramsay incorporates Hatha Yoga, Chi Gong, Tai Chi, Gung Fu, Chinese Medicine, Human Physiology and Biochemistry into his teachings. He has a unique gift for making things simple while also paying attention to and teaching fine detail of what he considers life tools. Ramsay has beat a Medical diagnosed chronic illness using the methods that he teaches and has spent twenty plus years instructing and teaching, speaking and coaching in the health and fitness field.
Healing
He now practices a form of healthcare called the 6 elements of unity. This is a method of natural medicine and health education that helps people understand his or her body through living in the balance while emphasizing vital healing movements, proper digestion, respiration, stress management, detoxification and nutritional balancing.
With an emphasis on nutritional therapy stemming from the culmination of metabolic typing, Macrobiotics, Ayurveda and the bio-energenics of food (yin/yang) and has received advanced training under Dr. Lawrence Wilson M.D. in nutritional balancing sciences. He also uses Taoist/Chi yoga along with bodywork, structural core conditioning and lifestyle counseling to help his clients better know their body and mind and how to activate the self-healing mechanisms of the body.
History
His love and passion for healing are synergistically infused into the mind/body arts. His understanding for western living and the necessary steps for the modern practioner to use these skills to better develop the self without being bound to rigid tradition or dogma to find harmony within one’s life.
Ramsay’s first experience to the yogic world was Ashtanga yoga a powerful style that opened his eyes to the shocking truth of a body full of stress and weakness. Then Ramsay received a gift that would change his life. A former nun from Paramhansa Yogananda self realization fellowship by the name of Peri Ness taught a therapeutic style that was directed to confront the unknown with courage and seek normalized living within the true self. She presented yoga not just as physical movements and postures, but a tool for developing a strong mental focus.
Ramsay’s personal practice took solitude for years. Simplifying life and regular personal practice developing a system that places an emphasis on energy and therapy for today’s bodies. As well as confronting healing reactions and aging modifications with clients and within his own body as well. Through the need to further his knowledge and refine skills he sought out Swami Dr. Camilo Sanchez, OMD,L. Ac, RYT to obtain the most diverse system of holism integrating eastern practices with western scientific sensibilities. This intense integrated yoga therapy program took over a year to complete and Ramsay consults with the former monk on a regular basis.
